Percentage of IRC SSL/TLS servers with cipher negotiated as CHACHA20. Showing percentages by IRC server software.

About this test result: ChaCha20-Poly1305 is a widely used secure encryption algorithm. It is said to provide similar security to well-known AES-256 but with better speed, especially on mobile devices. See also this cloudflare blog post for more information. It is one of the 3 ciphers used in TLSv1.3, the others being AES-128 and AES-256. It is also available in TLSv1.2 as an option.
Note on statistics: there is a difference in the gathering of TLS servers between 2017-2019 and 2020-onwards, see SSL/TLS statistics on the data page.
